Personality and Traits


Personality: Zur is quite the complicated person. His arrogance is undeniable- he believes he's good at everything and that nobody should question him. Because of that, he never backs down from a challenge or a fight. He has a strong sense of loyalty to the Republic and ideologically backs their major decisions. He can be an actor at times. If he's at an important event or engaged in a task where he needs to be social, he'll step up to the task and do his best. At other times, when off duty, he comes across as a hollow and cold person that will not let anybody in. To a degree, he can be a completely different person from day to day.

Strengths:
Vive La Republique! - The Mandalorians invaded his home planet and that's not cool. Zur would give his life for the Republic.
Walking Armory - Zur is a very versatile marksman. If it can kill people, he's probably knows how to use it.
Two Truths and a Lie - Zur is great at this game. He knows how to spot a liar and how to lie convincingly.
Weaknesses:
When your, standing in the hall of fame - Zur's not actually in the hall of fame, but he likes to think he is. That arrogance can cause him some problems.
Break the bank - Zur is willing to gamble on literally anything and doesn't know when to stop. He ends up breaking his bank a lot.
License to kill - Morals? Not a word in Zur's vocabulary. He will do anything to accomplish his mission or simply get ahead in life.

History


History:
Zur was born on Iridonia in 3925 BBY. He didn't live there long though. His parents were both in the Republic Army and they relocated the family to Coruscant when he was two. So as one can imagine, Zur spent most of his childhood growing up without realizing grass existed. Apparently concrete isn't natural.

His parents military service heavily influenced Zur. Most would probably call him a nationalist. When Mandalore invaded Iridonia it left a bad taste. Most Zabraks despise the Mandalorians for it, and Zur is no exception. Then there's the Sith, they're like a worse version of the Jedi. Good for nothing cultists that just like to stir up trouble because the force made them omnipotent or something. Through all the chaos, the Galactic Republic has stood strong. It's an impenetrable force that breathes freedom, now more than ever. For Zur, that freedom is worth defending with his life. This love and desire to protect the Republic gave Zur a clear sense of direction from the moment he was born. He was destined to be a soldier. That's what this galaxy needed after all, more people willing to stand up for what is right.

Zur didn't consider his parents to be particularly wealthy, but they did live in a good part of Coruscant. They also paid a lot to send him to a top school. Somewhere that he could excel. So when he became a soldier, he would be successful. Besides, Zur wasn't going to be just any soldier- he was destined to be an officer. It only made sense, Zur's better than basically everyone else, so he should get to tell them what to do, right?

Zur graduated with good grades. He wasn't the top of his class or anything, but he was smart and diligent enough to make it through school with little problems. Afterwards, he enlisted in the Republic Army Officer's Academy and was accepted with no issues. For Zur, it marked a big turning point in his life. He had worked his entire life for this opportunity. Whereas school was monotonous and boring at times, this was what he was meant to do. He excelled. The hours in the gym started to pay off- he handled the grueling physical training with no issues. The marksmanship wasn't hard either, as a teenager he'd had plenty of practice at the shooting range under the guidance of his parents. He knew how to handle most standard blasters. It wasn't until three months into his training that he was given a different offer. Apparently he had caught the eye of an intelligence operative and his supervisor recommended he transfer to that department to address shortages in the area. Zur instantly accepted the offer and almost as instantly regretted it.

Being a soldier is fairly easy, especially when you're as talented as Zur. Listen to orders, don't be out of shape, and shoot things. Simple, right? Being an intelligence agent added a whole new mental and psychological component that he didn't anticipate. He adopted some bad coping mechanisms to help with the issues. He started to shut his family and friends out completely. After all, intelligence operatives really can't share top secret information, so why talk at all? Zur completed the grueling training, but not without it's costs.

When on missions, Zur has gotten surprisingly skilled at bottling up his emotions. It's the perfect strategy that can't go wrong. He'll go anywhere and do whatever is required of him. Just whatever the SBI says. He took his commitment to the Republic seriously and isn't about to let them down. While not on a mission, Zur hangs around the Coruscant underworld. He frequents nightclubs and the shooting range. The two places he feels at home. He could probably afford a better place to live, but why bother? It's cheaper and the law pays less attention down low. He can get access to what he needs more easily.
