Kylar
's heart was heavy as they flew thru hyperspace. Another Jedi slain by Imperial hunters......another brother lost. Gungnir had been cut down by an Imperial raiding party whilst on a mission to deliver aid to the loyal Twi'lek's of Ryloth. Cham Sindual himself had sent Kylar and the Masters of the Jedi Order his condolences and pledged to raise a memorial to Gungnir's sacrifice in Ryloth's name.

In life, Gungnir had been many things. Surely a class-clown of the Jedi Sentientels, but he had a truly brave heart and his endlessly pursuit of joy would be missed. The Jedi Order would be lessened by his loss. The memorial funeral had already been planned for the Temple on Coruscant by Jedi Master Mundi, but Kylar had put a stop to that. No memorial.....there would be an actual funeral....a knight's pyre, in the proper tradition at the Hall of Knights on Ossus. Mundi had been fuming once again as Kylar had overruled him, but these were his Knights, not Mundi's political pawns. And they were already at war with the Galactic Empire, so what did it matter how many Imperials were slain for Kylar to recover Gungnir's body?

That is why Kylar had come to Ryloth. That is why the Ancestral Blade's hull was packed with loyal Jedi and soldiers. That is why when they exited hyperspace he had slammed all six (6) engines to full burn straight into the atmosphere of Ryloth.

Cham Sindual had provided him with coordinates of the located Imperial landing site. While his Free Ryloth Army launched a surprise attack at another Imperial supply depot, Kylar's strike team would hit the airfield directly, recover Gungnir's body before the Imperial dogs shipped it off world, and then retreat back to the stars.

They were diving fast thru the clouds, and Kylar keyed his mic to speak to the others. "We are coming in hot. I'm going to drop us right on top of the base. After a strafing run, I'll lower the boarding ramp while we are still in flight. Jet pack out to descend and take the fight to the enemy! Establish a quick perimeter and find Gungnir's body."

He paused for a moment, with bitter anguish in his words, "Oh and no quarter for the Imperials. No time for prisoners. ETA eight (8) minutes to contact. May the Force be with us."

Funeral for a Knight - Ryloth

Okera was very quiet on the trip, surrounded by strangers and unsure why she was there. They had all the troopers they needed and two Knights, and it was her mission that had failed and ended in the death of Gungnir. Though she did know what happened, how the ambush went down, how Gungnir ended up in that position, and of course the one that cut the Jedi down. The mission was a fool's errand in the Captain's opinion, the body was probably already gone, the sabre most likely taken as a trophy. Attacking the air base and cutting off the Empire supply line was most likely the only gain for this mission. Get in, hit the base, get the body, disable the anti-air, and then exit.

Coming out of hyperspace Okera was hit with that familiar wave of discomfort and the soft sting in the side of her head. Coming out close to the planet and burning fast for a high-velocity entry into the atmosphere. Gripping on hard and preparing herself for the impact as the ship rapidly decelerated. A deep breath, checking her mask and gear before the jump, aware of how quickly the large group would have to clear the ship lest they wanted to get clapped by an anti-air gun. Kylar gave their orders, in and out no quarter, of course, the rules of war still applied even if they wouldn't be dragging the imps with them. Kukri at the side of her hip, weapon ready for battle, and she ready for redemption.
"Good hunting"

Gungnir Tourath had been a good friend and training partner for Talia Raihart throughout the past, so when she had discovered of his death from Captain Okera Vekra and Jedi Knight Damian Dorian; she had felt a pain that she hadn't before. It was quite curious but also dour. And so the moment that Knight Talia Raihart had learned of the mission to Ryloth to retrieve the corpse of Gungnir for a proper funeral she had jumped at the chance to join the mission. And so, aboard the vessel which would bring them to Ryloth, the Jedi Knight sat among herself rather than join the other two. Remembering the good times when Gungnir and her had fought the training droid on Jedi Battlemaster Difficulty several times in the past including one time when Gungnir and Talia had been training with Gungnir's cousin. He was an asset to the Jedi Order and to the Phoenix Legion but at-least he had given his life protecting others which, should Talia admit it, was most likely the way he wanted to though the part that had personally infuriated Talia had been that the Empire had no intention of returning the Knight's body for the ancestral funeral pyre or his effects for that matter.

And so as the craft continued through the Void, Talia stood to full height just as the vessel came out of hyperspace over Ryloth. Talia went over a last check to ensure all of her equipment was on her person and that she wasn't forgetting anything before moving up the ship to meet with the others intent on this mission. Her current attire consisted of her order robes and Zeishon Sha Armor with her lightsaber on one side and holdout on the other attached to a thin belt. Her cybernetic eye switched from normal sight to infared and she quickly strapped her jump pack on her back. Outside, the thrum of barrage could he heard. Rather than twitch or show fear, she simply held no emotions on her countenance almost as if they had been drained from her. Now, she was slayer, not friend. As soon as they jumped, Force Valor swept across the sixteen or seventeen of them to enhance their reactions, speed, and strength as well as hold their morale steady. The jump pack would be the first thing ditched as the slayer could not allow it to hinder her movement.

Anger, Hatred, pain, and a little bit of confusion were the primary emotions he was feeling as he sat in that ship waiting for the command. He did not have any real battle armor but his fathers mask, that he inherited when he became a jedi from his proud father, would do just fine. Something to heavy now would make him slow, something he did not want for this mission.

His right leg tapping repletely on the floor would fill his corner of the ship with the metal tapping. He knew the mission well and told himself that he would follow it as best as he could. But if he saw that inquisitor...Now was not the time to think on it.

When the time came, he put on his jump pack, and launched himself down. He did not know Gungnir well but the death of the fellow jedi had been stirring inside him for long enough, He hated losing an ally.

As he landed with the rest, he ditched his pack and pull out both of his sabers. The yellow and purple merging across his cloak and sides.

As the Ancestral Blade descended thru the clouds, the Imperials became aware of their presence. Mobile Flak batteries turned skyward trying to swat their descent from the sky, but Kylar would not be dissuaded. Pulling on the twin throttles, he rolled and juked the ship thru the incoming fire. His officer, the Mandalorian Tarek Rau, tried to offer support. "My lord, should I engage shields? It would make the descent safer....."

"No Tarek, I can weave thru their flak," came Kylar's flat reply. "Save the ship energy for if we run into trouble later on the outbound." Another shudder would be felt by all on-board as Kylar ducked nimbly out of the way of another flak burst. "Once we are on the deck, take over the controls. I'll lead the away team, you keep us air cover." And he broke his dreadful serious state to crack a small smile at Tarek, "just don't stray too far. Remember, you're our aerial cover."

"Oh of course lord. You'll have all the cover you need. We have more than enough firepower aboard this craft".

Kylar continued the descent until the finally pierced the clouds and could visually see the Imperial installation below them. It was a sprawling camp amongst a lightly wooded area, with makeshift fence perimeter, multiple tents, pre-fabed shelters, and a small airfield. Additional black bursts of flak attempted to greet them, but Kylar swung the craft in a wide spiraling arc to the right as he continued the dive toward the Imperial base.

Ancestral Blade under fire.JPG

There, in the tree cover, he could spot the pair of flak canons with their stark white storm trooper gunners frantically aiming at the sky while struggling to re-position their long barrels. He centered his sites on the middle of them, and thumbed the fire controls for his proton torpedoes and squeezed off two (2) shots set to dumb-fire to land in the middle defensive battery.

The resulting explosion may not have taken out the weapon emplacements, but shower of earth, tree, and plastoid armor definitely caused the guns to fall silent!

Next, he set his sights on the landing pad, where a dark figure flanked by troopers was ushering a hover cargo unit towards an awaiting Landa-class shuttle. He triggered another two (2) torpedoes, this time locked on to the shuttle and fired! "You aren't getting away that easily," he muttered. "I bet that is our Inquistor friend." The first torpedo banked low and slammed into the shuttle's landing gear, while second scored a direct it between the central and port wing. The resulting explosions ripped the shuttle apart in a ball of flame!

Kylar leveled out the ship as he was dangerously nearing ground level. Near skimming the surface, he closed the s-foils and began to pepper any Imperial movements with heavy laser cannon fire. The tri-cannons of the Ancestral Blade lashed out with deadly vengeance at several stormtroopers who were foolish enough to stand their ground while taking small-arms to fire upon his ship. He took the craft to into a steady rotation, as he strafed a nearby hover tank.......with the heavy laser cannons making short work of its gunner and repulsor lifts, thus slamming it to the ground.

With that, he noticed the dark figure and his troop entourage retreat to one of the nearby pre-fab shelters, albeit this one with heavy durasteel blast doors. "Must be the command bunker," he stated. "Tarek, take over. Keep sweeping their perimeter with laser fire, I'm taking the our team down. If luck holds, we should evac shortly before the rest of their garrison fully realizes the mess they are in."

Kylar moved to the rear past his waiting Jedi and Alderaani shock troops. He nodded to each one in turn. These men and women had all volunteered for this suicide run. He planned to see them successfully, and get them back home. CDR Rook-Ti moved up beside him, "These damn Imperial dogs dare come here to my homeworld, and threaten my people!" she grimaced. Kylar put hand on her arm, "Steady Rook. I'm angry too, and we'll make them pay and drive them off. I promise. But keep your head and stay behind me. I want you right with me."

Rook-Ti.png

"I have your back, Admiral. I always will. Lets go hunt!". Kylar nodded assuringly at that, and opened the ship's exit ramp. They were still several meters above the ground and the ship was still rotating as Tarek continued to fire the laser cannons in wide arcs to cover their descendant. He turned to speak to his combat team, "Jedi Knights to exit first behind myself and CDR Rook-Ti. Remaining soldiers to follow. CDR Rook-Ti and Cpt. Okera have operational command, obey them." He paused as he looked at Talia and Damion, and added, "Jedi Knights answer to me. We are going in hot so hit the ground ready. Use jet packs for your descendant. Get the perimeter up. Knights Talia and Damion will move to locate Gungnir's body. This is an in-and-out operation. Hold your ground and keep the enemy at bay. For the Order! For the REPUBLIC!"

His soldiers echoed his call, and Kylar turned to leap off the boarding ramp........without a jet pack. As he fell thru the 15 meter space (approx. 50 feet), he swelled the Force up into his right palm and unleashed a heavy Force Wave towards the ground. The reverse shockwave helped slow his descent and he used the Force to cushion his thunderous landing in the center of his attack as it sent six (6) nearby stormtroopers flying. Kylar drew his lightsaber from his shoulder holster and ignited its long dark blue blade.

5047716-ulic.png

"I am Kylar of House Thrane of Alderaan!!!", he shouted. "Ryloth is under my protection, and you are not welcome here! Leave now, for this world only holds death for Imperial dogs!" He rushed forward to a dazed trooper to pierce his lightsaber through their chest piece. The second trooper brought his rifle to bear as Kylar sliced the barrel in-half and then claimed the man's head. A third rushed him and at least had the sense to draw an electro-sword. Kylar blocked his first heavy swings, and with a parry, counter-attacked to scorch the stormtroopers left arm. To his credit, the trooper re-newed his grip on the sword, and Kylar stepped forward with a series of overhead swings to break the trooper's guard.

Behind him, blaster fire and lightsabers whined as his forces followed, death dealing as they went. Looking past his opponent, Kylar spotted the command bunker a dozen meters away, with the smoking ruin the Imperial shuttle still burning next to it. "Talia!! Damion!! Check the command bunker! I believe they took our target within!'" He stepped back from his duel for moment to block an incoming blaster bolt. More Imperial stormtroopers were recovering from the shock of their entrance and now moving to engage the invaders.

He parried another sword swing to come up under his opponent's guard and with a heavy slash robbed him of his right hand, and a following slash robbed him of his life. He switched his lightsaber to his left hand, as he drew his DC-15 carbine off his leg armor. He fired off a series of rounds to check several on-coming stormtroopers and force them to take cover.

"Clock's ticking, let's go, LET'S GO!!", he shouted above the combat.

In a situation like this, the only thing that could really be done is to hold on and hope that the pilot was more competent than the enemy defences. Flack rocked the ship, that familiar crack and groan of the hull accompanied by the thud of shells that did hit. Goddess, she had done this how many times now? She could identify the weapons being fired upon them, just had to pray that there weren't any missiles coming their way. The transport fired back, closing her eyes for a moment and listening to the carnage outside the armoured hull. All things said and done the enemy air defence was most likely destroyed already, the flack getting less dense and more inaccurate.
Not quite the quick HALO drop Okera would have done herself but it was effective.

Kylar and Rook would jump first, followed by the Knights and the rest of the troopers, which made her tail end Charlie.
"OYA!" Okera answered as the boarding ramp opened and quickly the hull was emptied with the Togruta being the last out of the ship into the hail of gunfire. Kama protected her legs from the arrestor pack as she fell to the ground, tucking into a roll and bringing her rifle up and firing on anything too close to her, as she sprinted to the nearest cover.
"Rally up and dig in. Secure the perimeter" Getting into the rhythm of the fight, the knights had their mission and well what use was she against an Inquisitor?

Regardless of her doubts, Okera did her job, organising the troopers and keeping the momentum going. The attack relied on surprise and overwhelming force and as long as they kept it up they would win the day.
"Move for the bunker and set up there!" It was a good position to dig in, already having emplacements and shelters set up and the makeshift landing strip had an embankment dug in for thruster blast. The transport had already cooked off so there wasn't much risk from that.
"On your six Rook" Moving behind the Twi'lek and keeping up the fire on the troopers whilst not flagging the commander. She considered calling in a strike but it was too risky, judging some of their troopers to be in the splash zone. Well the quicker the Jedi did their job the better.

With the loss of weight from the impact of mechanical backpack against Ryloth’s earth and the enhancement of the force through her use of Force Valor running throughout her body, there was no question in her mind on if she could reach the command bunker in a timely manner.Talia broke into a mad dash for the command bunker whilst her fingers danced down the lattice of her armor, finding purchase in the grasp of a culling set that was then released and flung high to burst into thick smoke to conceal the actions of herself and Dorian to a length.

With Force Valor enhancing the muscles in her body, Talia was nearly a blur as she lunged down the grassy plains and towards the command bunker as ordered by Kylar Thrane wordlessly, only emerging from smoke once she had covered two-thirds of the distance and, upon watching the bunker’s blast door start to close, whipped out her holdout pistol and depressed the trigger causing three bolts to pierce the door mechanism causing it to explode meanwhile withdrawing the saber hilt then with a snap-hiss activating it in a whirl to block blaster bolts now heading her way and deflect all three back towards their owners before reaching the space directly before the Bunker.

Upon his descent unto the ground and the battlefield, he knew his orders. As he landed on the ground, he rolled letting the jetpack fly off his body and crash into one of the imperial troopers still out in the open. He charged to the command center using the single yellow blade to deflect away from him and his allies.

He saw the blast doors start to close as two more troopers armed with swords. He took take on both easily but might take him a few moments, something he only knew he had after he saw his temporary partner prevent the blast doors from closing. Talia would have to go in alone but he would follow behind as soon as he dealt with the two troops that blocked him.

The first of the two attacked Damion with a thrust of the blade as the next came in from the side. Damion dodged the thrust and blocked the sword from striking his body, the first of the troops tried a heavy attack from high up, but the Jedi swiftly brought the purple blade across the trooper's stomach, leaving only one left.
In a panicked state, the second attacked with brutal swift strokes from all sides with his blade, all of which being dodged or parried, until an opening was seen. As soon as he saw it Damion brought up his blade to cut off the trooper's hand and soon plunged both blades deep into the second's torso.

He kicked the second troop off his blades and quickly followed Talia into the command center, in case she might need his help. The battle still went on, and the massive amount of blasters nearly ignited the sky in their color, only a few made their way toward Damion, but none met their mark, as he entered the blast doors

Talia quickly moved into action, upon reaching the entrance to the Bunker. Of course as the blast door had began to close it would make a hard fit, yet instead Talia ignited her dual-phase lightsaber to it's second setting and began to cut through the door with one hand while deflecting blaster-bolts via Tutaminis with her free hand from those within the Bunker who obviously wanted to ward against the Jedi's entrance. Talia had not mind those outside the bunker from approaching her as those were currently being dealt with by her current assistant in Knight Damian Dorian. Finally making a proper entryway, Talia entered the command center just before Damian Dorian and lept into action fed by Force Valor. The amber lightsaber flickered into it's first setting, causing her to catch the imperial army trooper off-guard and decapitate him. She quickly released a burst of telekinesis to knock out two army officers, then moved to collect Gungnir Tourath before throwing the duffel with his personal effects, to Damian. As the entire garrison was not yet alerted to their presence, the command bunker was not really well defended and Talia easily dodged or redirected bolts from the other army troopers within the barracks as she made her escape. "Knight Thrane, this is Shadow. We've collected the body and effects and are heading to navpoint EVAC. I repeat, heading to Evac Point."

Jedi Knight Cassus Valorous stood within the command center of "The Blackhawk," an IPV-2C Stealth Corvette, which served as the flagship of the 901st Special Operations Platoon. The low hum of the ship's systems filled the air as they made their hyperspace jump into the orbit of Ryloth, a critical mission awaiting them.

The urgency of the mission weighed heavily on Cassus' heart. He had been late to the party, and his closest friend, Jedi Knight Kylar Thrane, had already led an attack party to secure the objective. The objective, however, was not just a strategic location or an enemy stronghold; it was a solemn duty, a matter of honoring their fallen brother's memory and upholding the values of the Jedi Order.

Their fallen comrade had been a paragon of Jedi virtue, a beacon of hope in the darkest of times. He had given his life in service to the galaxy, and Cassus felt a profound responsibility to ensure he received the funeral he deserved, a tribute befitting his unwavering dedication.

Cassus wouldn't have missed this mission for the world. As the corvette dropped out of hyperspace and Ryloth loomed before them, he could feel the weight of the mission pressing upon him. His lightsaber was secure at his side, a solemn reminder of the duty he carried.

"The Blackhawk" moved swiftly toward the objective, its stealth capabilities ensuring they arrived unannounced, their presence masked from the enemy. Cassus couldn't help but wonder about the outcome of Kylar's mission and the fate of their fallen comrade's remains.

The objective was clear - to protect their fallen brother's honor, to give him the dignified farewell he deserved, and to ensure his memory lived on as an enduring symbol of the Jedi's commitment to the greater good. As "The Blackhawk" descended toward Ryloth's surface, Cassus steeled himself for the challenges ahead, ready to stand with his comrades in fulfilling this sacred duty.

Cassus had only brought one squad of soldiers, Ulta Squadron, along with his units CO, Senior Lieutenant Curios, his helmet gleaming in the light of the planets surface, and the unique pattern of a Vornskr’s head on his helmet marking him as Lieutenant and Executive Officer of the Praetorians. “Lieutenant, contact Knight Thrane and ask him where he needs assistance. I’ll go brief the soldiers.”

Cassus walked back from the cockpit to the main hall where all the soldiers of the squad were prepping their gear. “General on deck!" Called the sergeant of the squad. All the soldiers stood at attention, the colored markings on their armor gleaming in the light of ship.

“At ease, Praetorians listen up. We’re dropping in hot. We’re gonna be moving quick and providing aid wherever we can. You are all the best of the best, there’s no group of people I’d rather fight beside. Stick together, follow orders, and let’s show these Imperials a hell of a time.” The soldiers all cheered in preparation, they were ready for the fight. The rangers gathered their gear and prepared for the drop, for the Republic, for Gungnir.

Kylar continued to squeeze the trigger until the plasma clip ran hot and he ejected it. Not waiting to reload, he holstered his carbine and sprinted towards an Imperial squad that was taking cover amongst some trees and tents, near the fence line separating the landing pad from the rest of the Imperial camp. Vaulting over rocks, his lightsaber caught the first trooper in the throat before he collided with the next, brutally slashing and brawling as he went. The mere shock of this attack forced a few to flee, and as a remaining Stormtrooper attempted to arm a grenade, Kylar fired a Force blast from his palm to send the man flying backyards with a shout of surprise.....followed by the shattering thud of the grenade (and trooper) going off several meters away. This opened up the rock outcropping to some of his troopers to find cover and moved up alongside him.

Then he received Talia's message, that they had secured Gungnir's body. "Well done Talia. Move quickly back outside. We'll maintain a perimeter and bring down........"

****ssssshhhhhkkkkkkkk*****

Suddenly his comm was filled with static. Kylar immediately turned towards the bunker only to see a double-reinforced pair of armored doors suddenly hiss shut, and sealing his fellow Jedi within. Immediately followed was a heavy clang-clang of metal joints. Turning to the south road, he witnessed two (2) AT-ST's on rapid approach with Imperial heavy-infantry following their heels. "Its a trap", he thought to himself. The intel had been too easy......too easy received on their enemies exact position. This was planned.

Without giving further time to think, the whine of Imperial TIE fighters filled the air as three (3) craft came over the tree tops to engage their ship, green laser bursts flying. His pilot Tarek immediately re-locked the craft's s-foils and banked up into the clouds to engage the enemy fighters. Kylar grimaced............this day was going to get worse before it got better. "Rook, Okera! We have armored walkers incoming along with flame-thrower and heavy-repeater infantry. Get into cover and open with everything you have on the infantry. Rocketeers, ready your shots, I'll get us a target on those walkers. We are in the middle of it now.......lets show these bastards who they are dealing with! For Ryloth!!!"

Location - Ryloth, Inside the Command Bunker

In amazement to Talia and Damion, a fresh set of armored doors slid from the bunker's housing to seal their exit route. Their comlink call immediately ended in static......but soon their attention would be drawn to a different hum. The pair who were moving Gungnir's body on the repulsor-sled would turn to see the Imperial Inquisitor step forth with his red double-bladed lightsaber ignited. He was flanked by two (2) heavily armored troopers with electro-staffs adorned in black armor with purple stripes. "Now, what do we have here?", the masked Inquisitor mocked. "Didn't your masters tell you not to take what isn't yours? That kill belongs to me.", he sneered.

Not waiting for a reply, the Inquistor charged forward with his crimson blades spinning to strike high at Talia's torso, while the pair of troopers moved in to corner and lung at Damion with their staffs.

Location - Ryloth, at the landing pad

The AT-ST's had begun raining laser bursts upon Kylar's position, as he crouched with his troopers behind the rock outcropping to while taking pot-shots at the Imperial infantry, in an attempt to lure the walkers closer. If it worked, it would give Okera's squad the ability to flank the walkers on their right side.

Suddenly the comm static broke for a moment, and a new voice joined the team. "Admiral Thrane, this is Lt. Curious of the Blackhawk, we are above your position and are awaiting orders.....", Kylar flashed a brief smile at Cassus' arrival before he responded, "Roger that Blackhawk, I know who you are. You tell Cassus and his troopers to bust ass and jump in behind this armored and infantry column. Swing south down the hill, and you can flank 'em. Watch your back though, I don't know how much more of the Imperial garrison could be pouring up that hill. We'll hold their attention here to the north at the rocks, while Rook and Okera move in to flank from Eastern side by the bunker. We need to buy the Jedi inside more time. We've walked into an ambush, though I fear our enemies think they have trapped foolish banthans, instead of wild rancors! Weapons free and come in hot!!"

Funeral for a Knight - Ryloth, Landing pad

Yup. Called it.
"Spacing! AT up!" The Empire were not fools, many of them were once Republic military trained in the same way as they were, all their tactics, all their doctrine, everything; the Empire knew it all. So of course the Republic came back for their Jedi, and, well, they just needed to give enough bait for them to come running in to save the day. Mechanised infantry closed in on their position with air superiority fighters to get rid of their support, an effective reactionary force with more likely to follow.

Moving into action she started to move her squad and quickly work through plans. Outnumbered and out gunned, maybe she should tie a hand behind her back to make it fair for the imps. The unit scattered out towards the east, close enough so they could assist each other, spaced enough to not get wiped by one blast. Of course the Empire themselves were not fools and in an extended fire-fight they only had to take them out one at a time with those heavy cannons.
"Gunners baton them down, AT aim for the hips." Machine guns opening up on the infantry, keeping them pinned but ultimately only slowing down the advance. The Empire responded in kind, bounding move, suppressing the gunners as their units moved. Okera and her squad played to their strength, multiple points of fire, constantly moving and making it difficult for the enemy to get a bead on them.

A rocket slammed into the side of a walker, unfortunately the light launchers were not enough to crack the armour. The guns opening up, blasting dirt and debris as the walker zeroed into the annoyance on it's side. The other continued to push up with its support and aim for those around the bunker. This wasn't a battle the Republic could win, Okera knew that, they just had to get out alive.

Cassus stood at the back of the Blackhawk, his presence commanding and resolute. Beside him, the Praetorians, gathered in anticipation of the impending battle. The atmosphere in the corvette's troop bay was charged with determination and readiness.

As the ramp of the Blackhawk lowered with a mechanical hiss, the sight before them was one of impending chaos. The battlefield stretched out, a harsh landscape marred by conflict. The soldiers of Ulta Squad, their vibroblades strapped to their backs and jet packs firmly secured, stood at the ready.

Cassus turned to his soldiers, his gaze unwavering. The markings on the Praetorians' armor were not just symbols; they were a source of pride, a testament to their unwavering dedication and their commitment to protecting the galaxy from darkness.

In unison, they braced themselves for what lay ahead. The mission was clear, and the stakes were high. Together, they would prevail, for their fallen brother, and for the Republic.

With a nod of assurance, Cassus led the charge. The Praetorians and the soldiers of Ulta Squad followed him, their jetpacks roaring to life as they leaped off the ramp and descended to the battlefield below. They fell like meteors, streaking through the sky, determined to meet the enemy head-on.

The ground rushed up to meet them, and as Cassus neared the ground, he let the force cushion his fall, as he ducked and rolled off the ground, the other solders followed suit, their jetpacks shutting off as they touched the ground, the vibrations of the impact resonated through their boots.

As Cassus quickly came to the crest of the hill they had landed behind, he peered over, and his landing predictions had been right on. They had landed behind the imperial soldiers, and they had been to busy engaging Kylar and his men to notice them. With more allies to the east, it was time the 901st joined the fight.

"Sergeant, have some of your men watch our rear. Lieutenant Curios, have some of our men drop remote explosives on our rear, we want to be prepared for whatever comes." With that Cassus walked back down the hill, and motioned for his soldiers to follow. As they readied their scatter blasters, Cassus was prepared to lead the charge. As they positioned to the infantries rear, they could see Kylar's men being fired upon at the outcropping. The imperials would soon learn their mistake.

In a swift motion, like the many times he had done it before, his lightsaber flew to his outstretched palm, and his blade ignited in a fiery blue beam. That was all the encouragement his soldiers needed, as their jetpacks burst with flames and they charged towards the enemy.

Talia grimaces, the force had called out to her - warned her of something weird about this mission - yet she hadn't thought about it and had focused everything on securing the corpse and effects of Gungnir and due to that had missed signs of the trap so that when the armored doors slid closed, she had no time to react. Instead, Talia released the repulsorslab and looked to Damian before her frown lifted into a smirk. "Damian, work on cutting through that door! Let me handle this Inquisitor. Don't look back, Damian, once you've breached the door with your lightsaber get out of here with Gungnir. I'll follow as soon as available. Don't worry about me, I can handle myself here. Now, go!"

With the command given, the human female quickly took the green crystal from Gungnir's effects then raised her hand and through telekinesis her saber raised to her hand and activated to it's second setting - increasing the blade from a 75cm long (arming sword) blade to a 95cm long (longsword) blade of amber hue and faced towards the inquisitor that had just spoken while her off-hand moved from the hilt of her amber lightsaber and released a quick burst of air via telekinesis towards one of the two soldiers and backpedaled, dodging the attack from the inquisitor and hemming in the second armored soldier. Her off-hand returned to the hillt of the lightsaber, ready to take down the second armored soldier and the inquisitor, her lightsaber drawn into the fencing-like stance of Makashi which she was such an expert of.
