Personality Traits:

[+] Fiercely Loyal - Admiral Vosst has pledged his loyalty to the Separatist cause, or rather the "true" Separatist cause as some of his fellow senators have begun calling it. Not the cause many of the extremists, like Dooku, fought so fanatically for. He fights for that cause with all of his being.
[+] Brilliant Tactician - From the time he first began his career in the Republic Fleet Academy until present day, Jethro Vosst has always been considered one of the foremost tactical thinkers of the age.
[+] Honor Above Victory - Vosst has, and always will, place honor on the field of battle over winning a battle. He respects his opponents regardless of whether they return the sentiment.

[-] Superiors Doubt Dedication - Due to his personal code of ethics, several of his immediate superiors doubt Vosst's dedication to the cause because of his refusal to use certain tactics that have proven effective, such as taking hostages or bombarding a defenseless planet.
[-] Underwhelmed With CIS Tech - Admiral Vosst has, throughout his career - first in the Republic and now in the Separatist Alliance, has made it clear to his superiors that current military technologies are quickly becoming outdated and must be advanced significantly if they are to win the war.
[-] Self-Doubt - Early in his naval career, Vosst lost a ship that had been temporarily placed under his command during combat conditions. His younger brother served aboard that ship - he has never forgiven himself and sometimes deals with self doubt regarding his tactics.
[-] Dislikes Clones & Droid Forces - Due to feeling betrayed by the Republic by them using clones instead of real people as the main force behind their military has led Vice Admiral Vosst to strongly dislike clones. Vosst also prefers commanding a living crew and therefore whatever ship he is in command of will have as many living souls aboard as possible. He only commands as many droids as are required of his positon.

History:

For the past several centuries there has always been a Vosst aboard a Republic naval vessel, whether in command or dutifully distributing the orders of their captain as a part of their command staff. Jethro Vosst's grandfather had captained a Procurator-class warship for over thirty years and before him Jethro's father captained a Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser for roughly the same amount of time, only stopping due to being medically retired from active duty service after receiving injuries in the line of duty. After being medically retired, Vosst's father taught at the Anaxes War College for several years before eventually going into politics. After several years, he was elected as Dubrillion's senator. Jethro looked at his family's service history as a badge of honor, so when it came time to submit his application to the War College he didn't hesitate. Jethro's application was seen as merely a formality by many members of the College's Leadership Council and was quickly accepted.

It didn't take long for the College instructors to gather that Jethro Vosst was a gifted student. Far surpassing his peers in almost every category - such as military history, tactical theory and application, and military ethics, Jethro was seen by many as the expected valedictorian of his class. After several years in the Anaxes War College, Cadet Jethro Vosst had arrived at the final event of all his studies - The Gauntlet. Comprised of several days of war games, The Gauntlet's culminating event consisted of a skirmish between himself and the commandant of the College. His peers stood no chance against his tactical mind and were quickly defeated.

Jethro's performance against his peers earned him the honor of commanding a Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser for his skirmish against the commandant of the College. He spent most of the night before by studying the strengths and weaknesses of both his ship as well as the ship the commandant would be captaining - a refurbished Procurator-class battlecruiser. During the skirmish, Cadet Vosst exemplified the skill, cunning, resolve, and dedication a cadet of the Anaxes War College should aspire to by driving back the commandant enough for ships roleplaying as civilian ships fleeing a hostile attack to escape. The commandant's vessel took enough simulated damage to warrant a retreat to effect repairs. Vosst's ship, however, took severe simulated damage in the attempt and would stand no match for the superior vessel when it began its attack.

Where most other cadets attempted to continue to press the attack in pursuit of glory, Cadet Vosst surprised the commandant and the other members of the College's Leadership Council by using the momentary reprieve to begin evacuating the personnel aboard his ship. After the crew was evacuated, Cadet Vosst tied weapons system controls to the helm and moved into a protective posture to shield the fleeing escape pods from possible attack as he fired everything he had at the commandant's vessel. After the escape pods reached out of bounds the commandant called an end to the war game. For his performance during his time at the College, Jethro Vosst received high honors and the rare honor of being fast tracked to Lieutenant upon graduation, as well as his choice the choice of his first posting.

Several years later, his ship along with that of his brother, a freshly graduated ensign, and an escort vessel were on patrol in the Arkanis Sector. Roughly two days into the patrol, the ship Lieutenant Vosst was assigned to received what seemed like a distress call coming from the Bajic Sector. His captain, a man known for being a glory hound, wasted little time before leaving their assigned patrol route to pursue the distress call, disregarding any attempt by his command staff to convince him to wait until being cleared by Republic Judicial Command. Jethro chaffed under the fact he was assigned to a captain that held such contempt for proper procedures. He had a bad feeling about this.

They eventually arrived at the coordinates that were imbedded in the distress signal, the Vergesso Asteroids - a known Black Sun spice route. Upon arriving, there didn't seem to be any activity in the area as even their sensors didn't pick up anything - not even the distress signal. Their captain made the decision to look deeper inside the astroids and his crew complied. They ventured further into the asteroids and found what caused the distress signal - a heavily damaged ship surrounded by several Black Sun vessels. Their captain had led them into a trap.

The battle that ensued was brutal. Several of the ships belonging to the Black Sun were destroyed, but at great cost to the main Republic ship. Lieutenant Vosst was put in command of the patrol and the captain ordered the few fighters they had to assist in the battle, led by the captain himself. The fighters weren't able to create a sufficent enough dent in the fighting to make a difference and they were ultimately destroyed. The damage to the main Republic vessel and its escort left many dead or wounded. During the continued engagement, the Black Sun susstained even more casualties under the new tactics being given by the now Acting-Captain Vosst.

However, after what seemed like hours of fighting, it became clear to Lieutenant Vosst and the rest of the crew that this battle was lost. They were still outnumbered and even though they could've contiunued to put up a fight, he had to get his people out of there. The main ship had taken severe damage and the escort ship had started to take heavy damage as well. Lieutenant Vosst knew what he needed to do, but everything in his being was told him not to do it. He ordered a full retreat - and ordered that the escort ship provide itself as a shield against the incoming Black Sun fire as it was the least damaged between the two. The main Republic ship was able to get an advantageous lead, but at a great cost. After what felt like only moments, the combined fire from the enemy ships tore into the escort vessel and destroyed it - Jethro's brother along with it. Vosst and the surviving crew managed to escape, but the losses were staggering.

Due to his ability to take command of a hopeless situaton and ability to get as many survivors out of harm's way, Lieutenant Vosst was promoted to Captain. In the following years, Captain Vosst displayed true dedication and heroism against the Black Sun during forays into their territory. The memory of the loss of his brother never left him during those hard years, but Vosst didn't allow it to interfere with his responsibilites. He owed it to his brother to be the best officer he could be.

Over the next twenty years, Jethro Vosst earned the ranks of Rear Admiral and eventually that of Vice Admiral. Not long after attaining the rank of Vice Admiral, the blockade of Naboo being conducted by the Trade Federation was established. During those events, Admiral Vosst was appalled at the pure bureaucracy the Republic Senate displayed in regards to helping the Naboo in their time of need. Luckily the Jedi, along with the help of the local Gungans, were able to defeat the Trade Federation and help free the Naboo from their oppression. Even with a happy ending however, Admiral Vosst lost a little faith in his government and would so even more over the next decade.

Over the course of the next ten years, events would transpire that would cause Jethro to truly question the leadership of the Republic, including becoming the senator of Dubrillion and seeing first-hand the mind numbing bureaucracy of the Republic. Many worlds felt oppressed by the Senate and the Supreme Chancellor; worlds so oppressed that they were willing to secede from the Republic and create their own government - the Confederacy of Independent Systems. More and more Jethro Vosst found himself agreeing with the words of protest spoken by those member worlds and those of their leader Count Dooku.

It wasn't until what would become known as the First Battle of Geonosis that Vosst fully lost faith in the governemnt he'd fought so long and hard for. The Senate surprised the entire galaxy when it fielded a vast army of clone soldiers and pilots to rescue Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Senator Amidala from their execution in the Grand Arena. Jethro didn't agree with the choice Dooku made to execute them, but he felt they should be punished in some way for their trespass. However, Jethro was at a total loss when it became evident that the Republic had no qualms with sending an invasion force to a planet outside of their control when they deemed it necessary. Jethro Vosst made a decision, a decision that he didn't make lightly - he could no longer serve the Republic. He couldn't serve a Republic that now relied on the fighting prowess of engineered clones that were programmed to be loyal to the Republic instead of the people that were loyal because the Republic was their home, their pride, something worth fighting and dying for. How could the Republic have told everyone that has served it faithfully that they were not enough to do what was needed of them - that they were inferior.

Vice Admiral Jethro Vosst resigned his commision and, with the support of his people, officially seceded Dubrillion from the Republic. Vosst quickly found a place within the forces of the CIS. He felt honor bound to serve those he felt were being oppressed, even if the oppressor was the very government he had dedicated his entire life to - the government he'd lost his brother serving.

He would serve the Separatist Alliance well. Serving well was the only thing he knew how to do. It was what the Republic trained him to do...
