The Ambassadorial Corvette
Honor's Destiny shimmered amid the setting Sunset. The dock workers scrambled to complete the final check list while while the ship was refueled. The readying process had been slower than normal, the result of increased security across the Senate complex. Additional precautions had been taken by the Senator's Chief Security member, a seasoned soldier of the Imperial Defense Ministry of Bar'Leth. Every action had to be thoroughly outlined and detailed in steps, and personally approved by him; the process visibly stressful for the dock workers.
Senate security members had intercepted Sabe and her delegation in the terminal building. New protocols required the security forces to provide escort to and from the docking bays, sweeping for technology that may be used for sabotage and/or espionage. Sabe had felt uneasy about her role as a senator, especially after the removal of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. She questioned her judgement and perception, having been blinded by a gargantuan plot, which would have undoubtedly uprooted the Republic.
"Chancellor Cindara sends best wishes and deepest gratitude in volunteering for this assignment." Padme's words were genuine and authentic, as they always were. However, Sabe questioned the source. She was not as familiar with the newly elected Chancellor.
Seba noded in response, "I fear that the Chancellor may perceive my altruism more ideal than intended ." She smiled, glancing at both Padme Amidala and Bail organa. "In truth, I feared some of our colleagues may place their own interests before that of the Republic."
"Perhaps the Chancellor's perceptions are accurate." Senator Organa chuckled briefly gesturing with a hand outstretched to Padme, "There is certainly no one else we would trust more with this matter." Senator Organa's affect and tone became more serious, sharing his concerns, "These are troubling times, ripe for the taking by those with wavering agendas."
"Thank you Bail, Padme. I hope I am able to return with positive news." Sabe bowed her head in mutual respect of her honored colleagues.
"Prosperity and wisdom to you Sabe." Senator Organa concluded, sharing the traditional Bar'leth salutation.
"May peace and understanding be yours." Seba replied in suite.

Honor's Destiny, En Route to Galidraani System

Seba retreated to her personal quarters after the evening meal. She felt unsettled, a fluttering in the pit of her stomach, anxiety she had not experienced since leaving the Judicial Forces. She was aware of the onset of symptoms, the arrest of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. His removal and the uncovered plots in his web of schemes and lies, had left an existential vacuum, which Chancellor Cindara now filled. It was troubling times...well, for those who cared deeply about the Republic, Democracy, and Freedom.
Seba stared out the view port in her bedroom. She didn't care much for the enigmatic visual which travelling at light speed created. She preferred to see the the stars, nebulae, and planets; the substance of space, what others may have considered minutia, in favor of quick travel for quick gains.
"And now, the Mandalorians want to meet with the Republic?" The inquiry came from behind, the soft and soothing voice of her committed life-partner, Nalyna'Synda Duelian.
"Yes," Sabe replied, shedding the ambassadorial attire of the day, "although I cannot imagine we are the only ones they will be speaking with." Seba daintily sat before the vanity, observing herself in the mirror as she removed various jewelry and makeup.
"And my Supisy, couldn't resist the intrigue of such a request." Nalyna playfully enticed her loving partner, using a pet name that remained solely between them, behind closed doors. Supisy, the Twi'lek word for 'mysterious woman.'
Seba chortled in response, turning to gaze upon her soul mate lazily giving attention to the plush duvet and elegant pillows. "Well, I can't deny my interest," she confirmed, marveling at Nalyna's insights and atunement to their relationship and her personality. "However!" Seba emphasized while still laughing, "It was too good an opportunity for any senator to pass...that is what scared me most."
"Like that Koyi Orn Free Taa!" Nalyna cried with disgust.
"That was one." Seba replied returning her attention to the mirror. She signed heavily, "However, there are plenty more."
Silence filled the room. Both Seba and Nalyna had seen their share of unscrupulous senatorial dealings, not to mention the most recent events. Seba observed Nalyna rise from the bed and saunter over to the edge of the bed behind her. The Twi-lek was lighly clad, far more comfortable with her body than Seba. "You never have to defend your intentions, my love, I am sure I would not be here if it were not for you. You have restored my faith in sentient beings and the Republic." Nalyna wrapped her arms round Seba, placing her chin on her shoulder. "If anyone can bring good out of this chaos...it is you," Nalyna added, kissing Seba on the cheek.

Seba sat quietly behind the co-pilot in the cockpit of the Ambassadorial Corvett. She enjoyed the silence of the cockpit, the space allowed her to focus. The datapad in front of her was filled with active bills and legislation, several amendments required her undivided attention as the bureaucrats always manged to insert their own agenda into these last minute second thoughts, often overlooked by many politicians.
"Arriving in the Galidraani System, Ma'am." The pilot stated as the ship dropped to sub-light speeds.
The stars had returned to view and the sight tickled Seba.
'My treasure of the day,' she thought to herself, tucking the datapad into her arm. She would savor the moment. She was sure there would be plenty more distractions on the planet surface. She leaned back in the chair, observing and listening in as the pilots engaged in flight chatter. It wasn't long before Honor's Destiny descended through the atmosphere and softly touched down in hangar A-4 of the large honeycomb port structure.
