First I would like to say, no threads in the Star Wars Chat section, on a Star Wars board. <!--emo&::eek:.0::--><img src='http://i5.ifrm.com/3768/2/emo/zzz.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='zzz.gif' /><!--endemo-->



But enough of that, let's talk about The Force Unleashed.

Rented this game out cause I had read reviews that had said it was short and disappointing. The bad things about this game are few but really bad. Targeting is really annoying, due to the camera being equally as irritating. The game itself is quite short, I finished the story in 3 days. However the multiple endings have made me re play it. On the bright side, there is alot of collectables that let you customise your costume, lightsaber and force powers. More replay value there.

The thing that sells this game to me sold it to me when I read the two first words of the title; Star Wars.



Being such a die hard fan anything with that tag is going to be win for me. The story it great, links III and IV perfectly and is a fantastic addition to the Star Wars: Galaxy. The In-Game videos are beautiful and gripping, makes the gripes of this game fade away.

So, all in all. For Star Wars fans, this game is great for a quick fix of gaming, and so much more in terms of Star Wars... nes. </div>

I have it, beat it quick, all that - I wasn't too impressed, I thought it would've been better if they RPG'd it, like KotOR, of course, I just want a Star Wars RPG XD



But, yes, it is short and disappointing, you're just staring at the screen like 'wtf' afterward.
 
The game sucked, especially for the Wii since the graphics looked sh*t and controlling the lightsaber with the wiimote was borderline impossible (far more easier to just use force lightning over and over again). Yeah, I think Lucas Arts should focus on funding the new KOTOR mmorpg, most of the Star Wars games in the recent years weren't all that great anyway. </div>

I meant just RPG -- like KotOR, the mmo looks good, but that won't be out for another year... and it looks rather cartoony-ish.
 
Force Unleashed got boring after awhile, to the point where I just cheated the rest of the way. Hopefully this new mmorpg is good, though with WoW and Warhammer I wonder how it'll do. </div>

Although I did enjoy TFU, I do agree that the game was ridiculously short and left me wanting more. Even so, my inner dark side makes me want to play the Ultimate Sith Edition, but it's BS that you can't download it and have to buy it on disk...come on Lucas Arts.



Also on the topic of TOR, I will give my impression once I play it (if I can), but even so, I just want my SW RPG -_- </div>

I agree that LucasArts should be working on a new RPG. The new mmo looks great but is still a bit of a let down for us Xbox 360 owners looking for a return to the best Star Wars gaming experience available!



Oh, an the DLC being on disk isn't a problem for me. I'm signed up to lovefilm and they send you disks with no return fee for about ?10 a month or so. But they stock DLC disks so all I gotta do is rent it, load it into my xbox and send it back.

A lot of those comments were in Ben "Yaztee" Croshaw's review of the game, suprisingly. I haven't played much of the game myself, but the game-play mechanics as far as I could tell followed on from the Jedi Knight series. Personally, I feel it was a mistake to have the story based on Darth Vader, considering (if you'd look at his page of Wookiepedia) he has already had enough apprentices through out his life-span.



I think copying the BioWare's approach to Star Wars ten-times more enjoyable to play, instead of muscling in as many famous faces from the original series, designers find their own space in time and make the galaxy their own from there. Considering the mass of technology and races not covered in the original series, such as Vibro-whips, Clawdite (sorta), Cordu-ji, Falleen and a lot more. There is plenty of room for new ideas to be thrown into the mix.



I find these lightsaber/force power games to be a misinterpretation of what made star-wars good, it was the concepts and ideas as well as the (once) unexpected twists through out the films (Although they did sorta lose it as well when it came to Episode I-III). That is what made the KOTOR series somewhat good (I say somewhat because I really didn't understand the objective of II so much, it seemed just exist to bring references from the previous KOTOR). No, I was surprised when I figured out my character was previously Darth Raven. Last time I trust jedi characters to tell me the truth!

Been playing through the story again on a harder difficulty. I can say, unlike some games, you can really tell that the gmae has been upped. I guess this makes up for the fact that it's short.

Then again, I've quickly grown bored of the gameplay. </div>

Ok, since it seems that many here are going the KOTOR way, I'll go my own. Personally, I have never played KOTOR, and frankly, maybe its all that you guys say it is, but from what I've seen, there are better RPG experiences. I would perfer that Lucasarts builds on TFU, but has some nice lightsaber combat, aka ROTS. I loved the multiple combos on ROTS, and was saddened that TFU had almost none of it.



As for online, I would hope that we would see another battlefront on the horizon. There is so much room to expand on that concept with current-gen systems. Maybe not by pandemic, (LOTR: Conquest wasn't their finest hour) but someone up to the job. </div>

Even if there is better RPG experiences I highly recommend KoTOR, nothing comes close to the story IMO.

There was some leaked footage of Battlefront 3 before it switched developers. I'm sure if you look around you can find it. It looked amazing, ground to space battles, Dark Jedi Obi-Wan (Concept Art), but like I say it was before it changed developers so who knows how it will turn out. </div>
