Name of Faction: Mandalorian Death Watch/Kyr'tsad

Rank System:

Death Watch Overlord- Leader of the Kyr'tsad, the Overlord acts as commander in chief of the small force of mercenaries that have banded together to form the Kyr'tsad. Taking the position as much through strength of arms as politics, the Overlord acts both as war leader and leader of the small independent Mandalorian society that has become the basis of the Kyr'tsad.

Bloodguard- The elite of the Kyr'tsad become members of the Bloodguard, wearing the crimson claw emblem of the Kyr'tsad to signify their devotion to the group. The Bloodguard are as much a title of prestige as they are a rank, the pressence of the crimson claw signifies that a Bloodguard serves as guardian of the all important soul of a true Mandalorian, as well as serving as one of the elite field commanders of the Kyr'tsad.

Wraith- After proving their dedication to the way of the Kyr'tsad, a Ghost will become a Wraith, wearing a dark gray claw emblem and taking on the duties of a officer among their brethren, working to maintain a chain of command between the Bloodguard and Ghosts. Wraiths are committed to the Kyr'tsad and as they continue to prove their commitment become the symbolic Bloodguard as reward for the glory they win in battle.

Ghost- In essence all who join the Kyr'tsad become Cuy'val Dar, abandoning the mainstream Mandalorian culture to instead follow that of the Kyr'tsad. Ghosts are the lowest ranking of the Deathwatchman, wearing a silver-white claw emblem on their armor to signify rank. As most Mandalorians they are dangerous warriors, and will quickly find themselves moving up in ranks as they prove their dedication to the way of the Kyr'tsad and win glory in battle for themselves.

Small Description of Faction:

The Kyr'tsad is a Mandalorian splinter group that holds strong ties to the old Mandalorian ways of remaining a nomadic force of savage raiders and mercenaries. Believing that Mandalorian society has been weakened by the reforms that started with Jaster Mereel's true Mandalorian movement, the Kyr'tsad look upon their brethren as sadly misinformed. Believing themselves Mandalorian to the core under the leadership of Overlord Dagg'run Kallis, the Kyr'tsad desire only to practice their beliefs; ready to hire themselves out as a mercenary force to whomever can pay for their services. Violent, and every bit as fanatic as any cult, the Kyr'tsad will go to any lengths to achieve their goal of rebuilding the glorious old ways of the Mandalorians.

Members: Dagg'run "The Bastard" Kallis

History of the Death Watch:

The Death Watch or Kyr'tsad was a Mandalorian splinter group formed in 60 BBY. Created under the leadership of Tor Vizsla, The Death Watch fought against Jaster Mereel's "True Mandalorians" during the Mandalorian Civil War. The Death Watch opposed his reforms and wished to continue to be savage raiders. At least some of them, including Vizsla, wished to start a new Mandalorian War and conquer the galaxy. They wore unique helmets and were led by an "Overlord."

Ill-disciplined to the extreme, they were skilled warriors nonetheless, but constant in-fighting and the egotistical nature of Vizsla's leadership of the Death Watch was its downfall. When Jango Fett finally defeated Vizsla, the remaining members of the group scattered, and it ceased to have any influence on the galaxy. Whilst seemingly destroyed, the beliefs of the Death Watch remained amongst some Mandalorians.

During the Clone War, the Death Watch remained in existence though this was not known by many. They were in conflict with the New Mandalorians and attempted to return to their ruthless warrior roots. At the time, the group operated on the Mandalorian moon of Concordia where they were secretly led by Governor Pre Vizsla. In order to get support for their attempt at taking over the Mandalorian government, the Death Watch allied themselves with the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

As part of their secret support of the CIS, the Death Watch performed clandestine sabotage missions for the Separatists against Republic targets. One such mission involved a commando attempting to sabotage a Republic cruiser but this agent was caught. However, rather than surrender, the Death Watchman committed suicide and his actions led to the Republic believing that Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore who headed the Council of Neutral Systems was training a Mandalorian army for the Separatists. This suspicion proved enough for the Jedi Council to dispatch Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi to Mandalore to meet with Satine.

At first, the Duchess and her advisers discounted any Mandalorian involvement until Kenobi showed holographic recordings of the Death Watch saboteur. She later revealed the existence of rumors of Death Watch's return which was later proven at the capital of Sundari when a Mandalorian bombed a memorial as well as committed suicide. At the bomb site, was a holographic representation of the Death Watch symbol which further highlighted the groups return. During his investigation, Kenobi discovered the Death Watch base of operations on Concordia and also uncovered the fact that Pre Vizsla was their leader. However, the Mandalorians managed to escape and abandoned their base allowing them to remain at large.

When Alpha-?2 resurrected the Mandalorians, he invited many former Death Watch members to join his Protectors. Other members took up base in the Death Watch Bunker on the forest moon of Endor, under the leadership of Teti Viba, before he was killed by an unknown raiding party. Remaining largely silent in the galaxy, the Death Watch was eventually ressurected by Mandalorian mercenary Dagg'run Kallis as a means by which to return Mandalorian culture to its true roots. Dagg has no illusions of grandeur about a Mandalorian Empire, as he instead hates the very idea. He instead focuses on returning the Mandalorians to their true roots; creating a Mandalorian Renaissance by returning to the days of fearsome raiders and mercenaries. However, as a man whose past is steeped in bitter violence, he and his brutal splinter group have resolved to bring about such a Mandalorian renaissance, by any means necessary.
