Malus Solari, the Kel Dor Jedi Master stood with his arms folded stood atop the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. "The Jedi Republic." Malus thought to himself. It was everything that Malus had ever wanted, he was a proponent of returning the Jedi to the authority they wielded prior to the Ruusan Reformation. Malus was of a conclave of Jedi that styled themselves after the followers of Revan; they were called the Jedi Crusaders and they stood at the forefront of the conflict with the Imperial Order and pushed to hunt the Sith. Malus stood alone but was soon joined by a close confidant and fellow Jedi Master Vekis Drakkar. Master Drakkar was a Draethos, a culture that had evolved and the traditions that these people were steeped in was a warrior culture.

"Have you pressed the Grandmaster?" Drakkar stepped closer to Malus. "No. I haven't. I do not believe that he will go for it Drak." Malus sighed. Malus wanted a return to the Army of Light, the army that was headed by the famed Jedi Master Lord Hoth. Malus wanted to restore the Army of Light to rid the galaxy of the "Republic Rebels" that had sprouted up across the Galaxy, denouncing the Jedi and swearing to rid the Galaxy of all force sensitives. "I will in due time. We must regain our strength. We do not have the strength that we had pre-Schism. That is for certain." Malus and Drakkar stood together and they both nodded silently as they peered over the Jedi Temple grounds and Coruscant as a whole.

Vald was walking around the Jedi Library having just very recently been accepted into this Jedi Republic, he took a deep breath just taking in the Jedi Temple and the history that was behind the Temple on Coruscant. Obviously it wasn't quite the same as it once was, but still the history was there and Vald felt privileged to be in a place such as this.
He was looking over some texts whilst sitting alone as others just walked on by him. No one knew his name here, but he preferred to not be the center of attention as he would rather be learning about the Force and all of it's views.

"What about the new Apprentice?" Drakkar mentioned to Malus. Malus turned his head and eyed his fellow Jedi Master. "Which one is that Drak?" Malus tilted his head slightly as he questioned the Jedi Master that stood by his side. "Vald Dimma" Drakkar folded his hands behind his back. Malus nodded and raised his hand to motion that Jedi Master Drakkar follow him, the two had formed a bond a long time ago. Drakkar had served with Malus on many combat operations against the Imperial Order as well as having hunted several dozen "Sith" and nearly a hundred Dark Jedi that had associated with the remnant of the ill-fated Imperial Order. Drakkar was one of the few successful Jedi to turn a Dark Jedi back to the Light, the Dark Jedi who saw the Light was now a Jedi Knight and a close follower of both Malus and Drakkar.

Malus and Drakkar walked to the Jedi Archives where the Jedi Temple Guards had pointed the two Jedi Master's as to the location of the Jedi Apprentice. "That's him." Drakkar pointed his three-clawed hand towards a young man sitting down reading texts from the Jedi Archive. "Studying? How appropriate. The Galaxy is torn apart by war and the Jedi Order has it's apprentices studying." Malus sounded angry. His voice came through his rebreather that permitted him to breath in the Coruscanti air.

Vald looked up at the Kel-Dor and Draethos and placed the text he was studying to the side. "All of the many ways to view the Force, they're all so fascinating really." He said with a slight smile, just looking at the two Jedi Masters standing there.

"Indeed." Malus nodded."I guess we can stop the small chat. Have you been assigned a Master yet?" Malus stood and folded his arms behind his back when he had approached the subject close enough. "I'm assuming that you being here, you are likely not assigned a Master." Malus questioned the Apprentice further. "Which means that the Corps are soon enough for you, unless you have the desire to be assigned a Master..."

Vald sat there looking at Malus. "I've not found a Master as of yet, I seem to be a problem with some due to my fascination with different Force Views." He said looking at Drakkar and then back to Malus, and he continued.
"I would be honored to have a Master, and someone who can teach me their ways."

Malus chuckled, Drakkar followed close behind with a chortle. "Different views of the force huh?" Malus questioned the young apprentice. "What do you mean by that young one?" Malus was curious, different views of the Force? That could mean many things. Malus detested the Dark Side of the Force, but that was also because he flirted with it due to his passion and drive for combat. "Do you mean the Dark Side? Do you mean that side that we all know exists but never admit to it? The Grey Side?" Malus pushed the young apprentice. "...because if you are discussing the Dark Side solely, it might be why you haven't found someone to take up your mantle as a Padawan learner yet."

Vald looked at them. "Basically anything not Jedi or Sith view points. The Grey Side is somethine that intrigues me greatly, The Aing-Tii's view of The Force being a spectrum of color and not just Darkness or Light." He replied looking at both of the Masters, he knew that his views would be scoffed at, but he felt like he must learn all aspects to fully understand other viewpoints.

"I don't think anyone can disagree that they are intriguing..." Malus paused and raised his hand, levitating the book that the young apprentice had been reading over to him. "...but..." Malus turned away and then turned back, walking closer to the Jedi Apprentice, focusing in on the eyes of the Jedi. "...do you disobey the Jedi Code? Do you trample on it? Do you believe that you are above it?"

Vald looked at Malus and took a deep breath before reciting The Jedi Council he felt made more sense to him. "Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the Force." He said looking back at Malus.

"So...that's a...soft no?" Malus opted to break the tension. Malus chuckled. "Well, I for one happen to agree with you. The Force isn't so...black and white. The Force has many shapes and sizes, but I do openly detest the Dark Side and the whims that come with it." Malus folded his arms and eyed the young Jedi. "I believe that you might be useful to the Order, to even me perhaps." Malus was making an effort, he could train a new Jedi. It had been quite sometime since he had done so, but he could be up for it. "I will take you as my Padawan learner."

Vald looked at Malus for moment, this was a big deal for him. Even if he preferred to just study up on all he wanted to learn, but he knew he would have time for it... Even if he had to make time for it. "I am honored to be your Padawan, Master Malus." He said bowing to the Kel-Dor Jedi Master.

Malus smiled, as much as a Kel Dor could smile behind his metallic mask. "Good. I believe that you and I will be a fine fit young Padawan." Malus had trained numerous Padawan's over the course of his Jedi career but he knew that this young one was different, gifted in the force and the desire to learn more. It was dangerous, but it was something that if tamed right...the Jedi Republic could use. "Please, I need you to escort me on our first mission together." Malus was interested to see if the boy would bite and ask what the mission was.

Vald thought to himself for a moment, and he looked up at the Kel-Dor. "Well, that really depends on what the mission is I suppose... Unless it is absolutely mandatory." Vald said looking back at his studies.

Malus peered at the young Jedi casually. Was he refusing to go on a mission? Was he simply just scared? Malus couldn't raise an eyebrow but he had heard the expression before by various fellow human or near-human Jedi. "Padawan Dimma, if I could raise an eyebrow right now to you...I would." Malus chuckled as his metallic laugh left his rebreather. "What is so pressing that you wish to not attend a mission with your newly crowned master?" Malus leaned closer to the Jedi, in a playful and joyful gesture.

Vald looked at the Kel-Dor. "It's just I thought studying the Force and all of it's many view points was very important, so that we may better learn about our enemies and why they think and just are the way they are." He paused for a moment and chuckling a little bit. "But, I do suppose I could carry on my studies whilst we go on this mission." He finished as he stood up, and pulling the things he was studying towards him.

"Studying is great, experience is better. Reading that rabble with make you think one way when the Galaxy is actually another way." The Kel-Dor shook his head at the young Padawan. He could already see that the Padawan was eager to learn, but he was learning from the wrong sources. It was silly, these books and holocrons that they give you offer you nothing in the ways of practicality of the Force. Malus suspected however that the Young Jedi did not adhere so greatly to the teachings of the Jedi Order, as many Jedi found themselves slipping from the dogma of the Jedi Order.

The Jedi Order had not found itself at such a crossroads since the time of the Clone Wars, it had been decades, near a century that Jedi had found themselves at the forefront of conflict and enforcing order throughout the Galaxy. The Imperial-Republic War had dwindled their numbers but the Jedi found themselves more and more force sensitives throughout the galaxy, a good thing for the Jedi but also a bad thing...not everyone was going to believe in the Jedi way...even when taken from birth. "Good, we do have a mission and it's on Coruscant so we won't go far from your precious books. We've got a situation developing outside of the Senate building where protests have formed. Come my Padawan, let us make our way to the Senate building." Malus motioned for his Padawan to follow.

Vald stood up and began to walk with the Kel-Dor. "Why exactly are they protesting so much?" He asked as he looked straight forward as they made their way out of the Jedi Library. He knew he was going to try everything in his power to stop things from escalating to much, but why would they listen to a young Padawan such as himself; maybe his newly christened Master would know how to deal with a situation like this.

"Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on who you talk to, we live in a republic and people have a voice. They use that voice, these people protesting are protesting Jedi control over the Republic. They believe that the Jedi Order has a place in the Republic but not as it's leaders. It's been thousands of years since the Jedi had held sway in the Republic, especially since they've held any sway in the senior levels of government." Malus had motioned for the young Padawan to follow him; they were off towards the Jedi Temple's landing pad which would escort them to the Senate building where the protests were taking place. Malus had been assigned to the duty of internal affairs by the Jedi Council.

Malus and his Padawan had reached the landing pad, boarded the shuttle and the short trip to the Senate building was done faster than you could say "Kessel Run" and Malus and his Padawan departed the shuttle. They were greeted by an officer in the Coruscant Security Force who informed them that a crowd of several hundred had gathered but had been relatively peaceful. The CSF officer instructed them that the Order Intelligence Agency had informed them that the Rebels had apparently sought to infiltrate the crowd and use their policy of anti-force users to cause issues. Malus leaned over to his Padawan "Be vigilant young one, the Rebels are afoot."

Vald nodded to Malus and then looked around the crowd, but he did not notice anything to out of the ordinary. Maybe it would a peaceful protest, but in these tumultuous times Vald knew anything could change in an instant even if he hadn't seen to much as of late.

"What have the Jedi said about these protests exactly?" Vald asked curiously as he still scanned the area and studying the crowd like they were one of the transcripts he was so so accustomed to studying.
