In your Mind
Vald landed on the planet of Ossus in the Eocho Mountains just outside The City of Knossa, he took a deep breath looking at the ancient and once ruined city on Ossus. He felt a gentle breeze as he went from his ship as he started to walk towards the city.

The day was long, but the Academy made the day feel as though it was worth living. To this ever curious Padawan, life was only unique if you embarked on the challenges it threw one's way. Fortunately, for Edra, the Academy was full of fun and wild surprises. From prank knocking on the chamber doors of the Masters to using the Force to hop from hallway to hallway, Edra was certainly having the time of her life. An outstanding seventeen standard years, the Falleen had little years remaining before she'd be drafted or dispatched into service. The galaxy was vast, and, following the events of the war, ripe for anybody's taking. She had learned, through the grapevine, that the Grand Master of the Republic personally issued orders for the military to prepare for invasion. Several of them, to be precise. The Padawans would also need to be in shape and in line by the time the forces disembarked.

Edra made her way to the top of the ziggurat-shaped tower, overlooking the lush flora and fauna sprawling every which way from below. "Enjoying the view, Padawan?"

The coarse, but clear, voice startled her. She peered over her shoulder, and quickly got into formation. She bowed her head in deference to the weapons master. "Master, so good to see you. I, ah, was just admiring the rich landscape. Despite my time here, nothing beats this perspective of the living, breathing Force."

"Indeed. The Force flows through every sentient and nonsentient entity. The same beauty in which you see those plants...differs not from the same beauty exemplified in you and I. It's a matter of perspective. To truly understand it, however, one must do less roaming, as you've been doing for the past hour, and more observation--devoid of sound and sight."

Doing her best to withhold the facial outpour of shame and embarrassment, she responded with a meek nod. "Yes, of course."

"Now, we were told of some new arrivals to the planet today. They are to be directed here, where they, too, shall learn and expand their knowledge as you. Seeing as your time has been far spent up here, I believe it's time for a journey through the city. Take what provisions you need and begin your search."

New arrivals, recently landed, wanting to come to the Academy. Alright, it sounded simple enough. Racking her brain, she pondered what else she might need to know. Oh! Oh. How could she phrase this without sounding completely ignorant, as the master made her feel all too often? Hm. Word...word..word. She blinked, realizing the master's eyes dawned upon her own with an annoyed, confused look. To hell with the right words. "So, all I have to go off of...is 'new arrivals'? That could be anyone. What exactly am I searching for? Who am I searching for?"

"You will know when you know," the master remarked. Oh, how he had a way of making the slightly sensible senseless.

She responded with her usual fake, perky smile and the formal head nod. After the formalities, she rushed away, ready to tackle the city.

The city was always vibrant with activity. These people were happy people. That much he ad come to learn. Many workers at the Academy were in fact Ossus natives. Suffice to say, the Jedi employed and cared for these people as they did them. He offered friendly greetings to any beaming face who walked by. His journey for the unknown new arrivals had begun.

Vald walked amongst the city he had read so much about, he looked up towards the mountains knowing that Crystals had been in those mountains and he was rather interested in venturing into those caves if at all possible. He walked around just thinking to himself on the feeling he had on being on such a historically force powerful planet, so he would obviously be interested in just being there.

They were talking about more illegal airspace dumps within the past months versus the previous month but one of them affirmed it was nothing to be worried about - probably systems hiccups. The airship shook violently within turbulence as it descended but then smoothed out. Even if ships were dropping in, there would be some sort of fuel signature or pollutants that the sensors would have picked up - you can make some sort of invisibility cloak, make it as efficient as you want but you still got an engine shitting out spent fuel. Shell stood quietly between the two. She liked observing body language. I-O liked listening. I-O especially liked listening to their particular patois, seeped in juicy colloquialisms. When I-O spoke, Shell knew, it was bitterly formal. I-O liked to think of herself as more freeflowing and casually depressive.

“I am not depressive. You do not use that word correctly.”, I-O said, aloud, just to be spiteful. The men on either side of Shell stopped talking and looked at her. Shell shrugged. They continued talking about their space dumps, the meaningless chatter of idiots - I-O enjoyed their speech patterns but found them, the men and the things they spoke about, intrinsically boring and worthless. Just like most everything or everyone. Worthless.

When they landed two tense jedi knights were waiting. Behind them a small crowd of officiates, scholars, and doctors of varying specialties. Shell walked forward, ahead of her happy captors. She recognized the shape of the lightsabers in the crowd and counted a total of fourteen. She saw the armament turrets littering the skyline but those were the least of her concern.

“Do not even look at them. Look at the ground in front of you. Dumb girl.”, I-O said, this time only to Shell.
“I am here by choice. Jedi do not frighten me.”, Shell said aloud for the I-O and the jedi, followed by a low hiss as a plume of exhaust vented from her neck.

She is object of fascination to the jedi because she is an anomaly. Because there is no discernible manufacturer and because she houses a mobile photonic generator. Shell assumes it is because of the galactic tension that they asked to meet with her after what happened in Nar Shaddaa and on Coruscant. What happened on Coruscant was out of her control. That was self-defense mostly. And the Dead Suns. She walked with them to a place where they could speak with her.

Vald was looking towards the Jedi Academy there on the planet. He felt something very faint, something like an anomaly, but it was not a force user; it was rather something more robotic.

Vald continued onward through the city trying to just take in all the positive force energy that was on the planet. He still felt the anomaly, but didn't pay to much attention to it now as he walked up to an information station on the side of the street he was on.

The temple gardens were an incredible structure to behold. A monument to nature, the force, and the symbiotic relationship which all beings have within the force. The transparisteel greenhouse, nestled between two pyramidal temple structures, contained numerous flora, streams, waterfalls, and lifeforms which thrived amid the tension from daily life and duties at the temple. Although almost all padawan training important in the life of a Jedi took place outside of the gardens, Amara understood the placement of the gardens at the center of the academy was not constructed by accident. She had learned that the gardens were the most important lesson a Jedi could experience. The sparing room could teach a padawan how to fight and yield a lightsaber, but the gardens taught her when to fight. Similarly, the gardens provided her the opportunity to struggle between license and discipline.

Every morning since her arrival, Amara sat in the temple gardens before breakfast. She struggled at first to find the peace offered in the gardens, but now welcomed it as a companion. The force was not simply some enigmatic movement of energy; it was a sentient of sorts, and required time to build a relationship. Meditation and relationship building had become a synonymous term in recent weeks. She was discovering that her relationship with the force manifested in nature was stronger than she first realized. Although uncertain about how far this relationship may go, she was sure that time spent in "relationship building" would reveal all she would need to know.

It often took Amara fifteen to twenty minutes to quiet herself and enter a sacred space for meditation. Today was no different, once the chore list was created, training schedule prioritized, and social time allotted, Amara could feel herself enter into mindfulness practices. She could feel herself settle into the soft grass. She could count every droplet of mist which splashed upon her face. Faint whispers from higher in the gardens hummed like the insects. Even the gushing roar of the waterfall soon faded as she entered deeper into meditation.

Amara emerged from meditation unsettled. She was accustomed to intrusive thoughts and emotions while in meditation, however, this disturbance was more than from within herself. The only certain thing, was the force had moved in a way she had never felt before. "Something to mention to Master Tartanis." she muttered as she composed herself and re-focused on the tasks for the day. First on the list was breakfast; she had heard that the kitchen staff had served a special breakfast this morning as new initiates would be arriving throughout the day.

"Then to assist the Quarter Master prepare for the new arrivals."

So, Edra's instructions for the day were to locate and bring in these new recruitments...in this vast town. Of course, walking was the easy part. Locating them, however? That was another matter entirely. Where to find them, Edra pondered. Finally, he resolved to venture into the markets. Perhaps, he might find what he was looking for there. The masters at the Academy had always said that the Force could work in mysterious ways. Time would tell.

Vald sensed another Force User around in the Marker area, he began moving towards that direction hoping he would find this other Force User so he could be lead to the Jedi Temple there. He hoped that the Jedi here would teach the proper ways of the Force and the proper Jedi Code.
