"Sek" was the Imperial Intelligence contact on the planet. Velos Marr had received the datapad aboard the cargo shuttle that the Imperial Intelligence Agency had procured to transport the 305th Special Missions Platoon to Taris. Marr stood up, he was surrounded by only one squad of his platoon, the rest had gone in advance days earlier to scout and pre-plan. "Listen up. Operation Judge is a go. We will be attacking a judicial center on Taris that has been making progress towards full membership in the Galactic Alliance." Marr walked back as he read off some of the finer details of the mission, targets, persons to intimidate, security, etc. Marr was briefly interrupted by Trooper Silus Falensarano. "Ah damn. Another PGO?" Sighed Falensarano. Marr nodded. "Yes another one." Marr continued to go over the details. Taris was on the borderlands of Imperial Space and was loosely affiliated with the Galactic Alliance as a whole. Taris, a sprawling city world, had remained firmly neutral as it benefited from trade and economic overtures made by both the Empire and the Alliance, but the Alliance had reportedly made an offer they couldn't refuse. While the Empire could have surely counter-offered, the Empire felt they could accomplish it through a variety of other means, a political gain operation was one of them. What Marr had not included was that the judicial center would have Imperial citizens and personnel within it and the attack on them would strike a nerve with the Imperial citizens on Taris.

"Standard procedure for this mission. You are captured. No dice. We have no idea who you are. You've all been supplied with the necessary means to protect the mission." Marr was of course talking about the poison that each Imperial Special Missions Trooper was equipped with in one of their teeth. A simple removal and bite down, a poison would render the trooper dead within seconds. It was, fortunately, supplied and provided by a company that had provided them to the Galactic Alliance Intelligence Service, it would further give the appearance that the Galactic Alliance was involved. Marr was always a little unsettled that he couldnt share all the details of the operation with his men but ultimately, he understood that they were working towards a better future for the Empire, a better future for all Imperial citizens away from war, famine and the disaster that is democracy. Marr didn't particularly dislike the Alliance but he hated what they stood for. Imperial propaganda had placed a great deal of blame for the rise in piracy on the Galactic Alliance which, for what it was worth, was partially true. The Galactic Alliance relied heavily on local planetary defense forces that ranged in strength, funding and size. The Core Worlds were heavily protected by the Galactic Alliance Defense Forces...but as you began to leave the Core Worlds, to the Inner Rim to the Expansion Region...it became less and less. Strategic and tactical worlds were maintained but that was it.

The southern portion of the Outer Rim was a joke, places like Hutt Space, Tatooine all were hives for anyone and everyone who was a criminal. Marr knew that small pockets of resistance had grown, notably in Naboo which had been a fierce opponent of the pirates and criminals that swooped around the Outer Rim and preyed on every vessel, civilian to Alliance to Imperial. The Empire had stepped up patrols in recent months but the dwindling Imperial Fleet had suffered underneath the Fel Empire, the focus turned from building ships to research and development on "new ships" but none of them had ever left the drawing board. The shuttle landed and the Imperial Special Mission Troopers disembarked, they were casually dressed. They would have a few short hours before Operation: Judge commenced and the shooting started, for now, to everyone else, they were just individuals coming off a crowded cargo/passenger ship.
