Built on Verpine Shattergun technology, the Mirjahaal-class rifle utilizes a miniaturized magnetic field, similar to a rail gun, to charge and send small metal-alloy harpoon-shaped projectiles at extreme ranges, able to punch through personal shields and armor with relative ease. Thanks to the Verpine, this weapon is accurate all the way to a user’s full sight-line (meaning the horizon in extreme visibility cases). An incredibly difficult weapon to manufacture, ownership of such a rifle is restricted by cost; though the Mirjahaal is indeed available to commercial customers.

Single-shot by necessity, the recoil alone is enough to dissuade “armchair warriors” from utilizing one. Each shot must be fed by the manual bolt handle at the rear of the weapon. Many instances from the proven E-11 platform from BlasTech were incorporated into the frame and body of the Mirjahaal-class for superior ergonomics. It was prototyped as early as 42 ABY, being one of the early ventures borne of the partnership between the Verpine and Mandalorians. It has become increasingly popular among other Fringe elements, especially the Hutts (despite the Mandalorians’ ongoing border conflicts with them). However, it remains primarily a Mandalorian weapon.

Earlier designs incorporated magnetic coils to launch projectiles, and could even be loaded with rocks if required. The Mirjahaal COULD fire any ferrous slug in theory, so long as it is approximately the correct size. Shape should be accounted for. It is important to make the distinction between the Mandalorian issue Mirjahaal and the commercially available model. Both are identical, save for the available projectile load. The commercial version slugs are made from durasteel, while the Mandalorians issue beskar slugs made from waste in the smelting process. Available in both brushed-nickel finish and matte-black.
