Vandelhelm, Vandelhelm System, Epsi Collective (Sector)

Moff Redar Brenau had been tasked by the Imperial Ruling Council with meeting with the new Moff of the Epsi Collective, Gideon Adelhard. The new Moff had brought the Epsi Collective sector underneath Imperial rule and the sectors new capital, Vandelhelm, had become the epicenter of of the Imperial efforts in the region. Brenau had thumbed through a dossier compiled by Imperial officials, including non-official information about the man and efforts within the Galactic Empire. Brenau leaned his head back against the speeders' wall as it took him to the Sector Headquarters on Vandelhelm, the nerve center of the sector governance for the Epsi Collective. Brenau had arrived with the Executioner, a Vindicator-class Heavy Cruiser which was being assigned to the Epsi Collective Sector Group. The vessel had just been commissioned by Regent Tarkin and had been deployed to reinforce the relatively small sector group in the Epsi Collective. The Vindicator's were being produced at a higher rate than the Imperial I-class Star Destroyers that would be the mainstay of the Galactic Empire but right now, there were a number of things that remained at a limited pace, production was one of them.

After several minutes Brenau arrived at the Sector Headquarters and departed the speeder. Captain Farsun, the Stormtrooper Clone Shocktrooper who was assigned to his protection was immediately on his flank. As Brenau stepped out, he was steps away from Moff Adelhard.

The Vandelhelm system had become the new location of central government for the Epsi Collective under Gideon Adelhard's governorship in the name of the new Galactic Empire; the world's surface which was covered in hard mineral held at-least one alloy mega-foundries every number of kilometers, with the largest mega-foundries being found within the five main settlements of the world - in fact it was the largest that could be found in the capital along with the Metalworks Guild's headquarters. Each of these foundries when originally created three-thousand years ago were not exactly environmentally friendly and tend to strip the world. In the past twenty years, these ancient foundries had been completely retrofit by Gideon and his father, using geothermal fracking beams instead. As such they were far more friendly to the environment, and the green had been slowly returning to Vandelhelm.

The system's orbit held perhaps the fourth or fifth largest shipyard in the known galaxy with the Shipbuilders Guild of Vandelhelm, current works were put towards the construction of three Arquentins-class Light Cruisers and one Victory-I Star Destroyer; though the latter of those projects were currently the most far-behind.

As the moff's speeder came into the sector capital, he would notice that the outer sector seemed dedicated to industry in it's finest form, while the middle sector was a heavy residential and mercantile area; finally after passing through the inner checkpoint, the only entrance into this sector without scaling it's durasteel walls, the area had the imperial iconography set up throughout the sector and in the center just before the government building was a statue of their Emperor, seeming recently erected. The buildings within this sector of the capital city seemed dedicated to imperial army and navy, government manors, VSDF Logistics, the headquarters of the Shipbuilders Guild, and finally an orbital elevator.

As the parliament, a glorified group of advisors to Moff Adelhard, had just broken session and were enjoying refreshment within the government building, it was Moff Adelhard and a small squadron of second-generation Stormtroopers who met Brenau at the steps of the government building. "Ahh, Greetings. Welcome to the nerve center of the Epsi Collective. You must be Mr. Brenau? It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, now let's come and speak."

Brenau had arrived and noticed that the the capital of the Sector had been adorned with Imperial iconography, noticed recruiting centers setup for the Imperial Army and a handful of Stormtroopers guarding the inner sanctum of the Sector Capital. The Epsi Collective had transitioned fast to the Galactic Empire and that is something that Brenau had admired, he also noticed a handful of members of COMPNOR rushing around; something that he had helped start. The Moff of the Kuat Sector had become something of an important functionary within the new Galactic Empire and his dispatching to the Epsi Collective signaled that. Brenau had been directed by his host's cadre of officials who joined him on the world to meet Moff Adelhard at the Parliament building of the Epsi Collective.

As Brenau arrived he was welcomed by Moff Adelhard and squad of Stormtroopers, surely human recruits by the look of them. "I am Moff Redar Brenau, Moff of the Kuat Sector." Brenau didn't need to introduce himself but he did it anyway. "I thank you for welcoming me here. I must say that this has been a fascinating trip at the behest of the Imperial Ruling Council and Regent Tarkin." Brenau walked side by side with Moff Adelhard as they marched up the steps of the government building in which this meeting would take place.

"You are most welcome, Moff Brenau. I have done my best to ensure your trip in was planned with thoughtfulness to give you review on all our capital has to offer." spoke Gideon, his voice forthright and welcoming albeit a slight bit staid. The two passed through the great doors leading into the parliament building, sliding aside. Within; the building had a great foyer that could likely fill one to two thousand people on it's own before progressing forwards to the parliament forum, left towards the offices for parliament officials, and righttowards the meeting rooms and the Moff's own office. The building was vaunted with arced high ceilings over 500ft tall and wide corridors.

The stormtroopers fell into formation and marched along behind the group of officials, going so far as to escort them and ensure their safety inside the Parliament Building. Within the building were a number of elite ops of the Vandelhelm System Defense Force (VSDF) serving as guards and guides within this building the nexus of the Collective - all wearing dress blues with armored breastplates and a blaster pistol at one side. And so Gideon pushed along down the left corridor, eventually settling before a pair of double doors.

The two VSDF Officers pushed these doors aside, revealing a lavish meeting room with an authentic kachiro wood table standing in the center with ten chairs set around said table. Furthermore, refreshments were awaiting to the right and left side on metal serving tables. Gideon moved to one of two chairs set at the head of the table, motioning for Redar Brenau to take the other seat. "Please, partake in our hospitality. It is my pleasure to welcome you all here."

Brenau was impressed with the ceremony that the new Moff had displayed towards him. Brenau might not have been a Grand Moff or any sort of high ranking official per se but he was here at the behest of the Imperial Ruling Council and the Regent to oversee the transition from independence to Empire. Brenau took particular notice of the Vandelhelm System Defense Force (VSDF) soldiers and that piqued his interest. "Gideon, I find it interesting that those soldiers have remained "independent" and have not been brought into the Imperial Army." Brenau paused. "I thought that Project War Mantle had all but eliminated sector defense forces by bringing them into the fold of the Imperial Army. I'm curious as to their independence?" Project War Mantle was the wide-ranging operation of Regent Tarkin to switch over from Clone Troopers to regularly "recruited" human and near-human species into the Galactic Empire's military.

"About three-fourths of all VSDF Personnel and Assets have been transferred into the graces of the Imperial Army and Imperial Navy Departments, as according to Project War Mantle. It has been an ongoing project and we expect to turn over a further 15% to the Imperial Army and Navy as well within the coming months. These remaining operators are being transitioned to the ESPD or Epsi Sector Police Division which we have established to work in the private affairs division of the Sector. As such they work here in the sector but still answer to the Empire of course. Each squadron has a corporal who directly answers to an Imperial Lieutenant or higher liason/commander." Gideon explained. Transitioning to the Empire and it's iterative regulations was a long-term process despite their quick transition speed as seen by Redar Brenau. In fact, the VSDF Logistics building, despite being transitioned to the ESPD Department HQ, still has the VSDF iconography that hadn't yet been taken down. After responding Redar, he had a secretary bring him a teal nom tea (tastes peach-like) and began calmly sipping on his tea as he motioned for any more questions by Moff Brendau.

Brenau nodded, that was an acceptable response. "I am sure that the Regent and the Council will be pleased by your answer." Brenau paused for a moment. "As you can imagine some planets had issues transitioning so quickly, that is why I asked. It is however very good news that you've overseen their transition so quickly." Brenau noted that right after the Declaration of a New Order there had been a lack of logistical support in building the Imperial Army and even the Imperial Navy. This was reduced after more and more officers from the Galactic Republic who had true loyalties to the Galactic Empire and Emperor Palpatine had come over, they assisted in the efforts of planning and rebuilding. The Empire was nascent but it was growing day by day.
