It had been months since Tk’e escaped, but things hadn’t gone as planned. She thought everything that had happened over in her head as she sat in a dark alley of the lower levels of Coruscant.

She sniffed back tears, pulling at the metal tag on her ear, anxiously. She was cold, dirt and grease covered, and hungry.
Her small leather carrier sack sat next to her, her staff made out of a discarded scaffolding rod leaned against it.

Despite her laid back sitting position, Tk’e’s ears pricked up and down, listening for anyone trying to sneak towards her, or anyone coming towards the alley.

Her jaw was aching for something to sink her teeth into, yearning for something to eat, even if it was a crumb of stale bread, anything! The sound of her stomach rumbling was nothing but a unheard sound in the bustling crime ridden level, only felt by her. She felt tears poke at the corner of her eyes, slowing sliding down her cheeks.
She knew it was only a matter of time until she was found again, for better or for worse.

Tk’e let out a heavy sigh, grabbing her things and standing up. She had to keep moving, it would make it harder for anyone to catch her if she kept traveling. Last time she checked, a bounty had been put on her head, and she had already almost been caught by 3 hunters, itching to collect the reward for her return.

She snuck around the corner, keeping an eye out for danger. Her tendrils quivered slightly as she made a run for the next alleyway. She skidded to a stop, her nose picked up a scent, a very meaty one.
<“Food!”> she thought to herself.

Tk’e followed the scent, mouth watering. Like a wampa to a dying tauntaun, she growled with anticipation. She hadn’t eaten in days, her last meal being a ration bar tossed to her by a kind stranger who had taken pity on her.
She finally stumbled across the source of the tasty aroma. Tk’e came face to face with a small grey building. Across the front of the building in large glowing aubresh letters it read: Pogo’s Steak Shop. Unfortunately, Tk’e couldn’t read the sign, only being partial fluent in Galactic Basic. All she knew was that she wanted to bite into something.

She quietly walked into the shop. It was similar in appearance to a butcher shop, with a large glass display case, showcasing different cuts and types of meat.

A grisly old bothan walked up to the counter. He wore a red stained apron, which barely fit him. His beard was a dark chocolate brown, with small streaks of grey.

“Welcome to Pogo’s, kid.” The bothan said, his voice deep yet friendly, “Running an errand for ya parents?”

Tk’e could only understand a chunk of his sentence but she got the gist of it, responding with a shake of her head.
She now pointed to herself, <“Hungry.”>

The bothan looked at her, his face twisted with confusion, “I’m sorry, could you repeat that?”
<“Hungry.”> She said, repeating herself.
To the bothan, Tk’e sounded like she was choking on snot while speaking nonsense words, which is sort of how her native language sounded like to those unfamiliar with it.

“Kid, I can’t understand ya, just point to what ya want, or if you know any basic, say what you can.” The bothan grumbled.

Tk’e walked up to the display case, pointing to a small portion of bantha meat.

“Ah, that’s a fine choice, that will be 17 credits.”
Tk’e frowned, searching her bag, only finding two credits.

“I don’t have that much… Sorry for wasting nice man’s time.” She chirped, turning to leave.

The bothan watched the small kid turn to leave, feeling bad for her. Guessing from her unkempt appearance, he could tell she was an orphan. This clicked with him, having been an orphan himself. He sighed, grabbing the meat and cooking it quickly.
He wrapped it in a paper bag, and walked to stop the kid from leaving.

“Here kid, it’s the least I can do…” he smiled at Tk’e.

Tk’e’s horns glowed a soft pink, as she smiled weakly. Maybe her luck was finally turning around.

Tank marches through the underworld of Coruscant, on patrol. He thinks to himself "Why in this planet was I selected to patrol this place for a whole week, I'm a Clone Captain for Chancellor's sake, don't I have a better place to be?" That's when he came across Pogo's Steak Shop, and he then noticed a child walking out of there, she looked terrible, and Tank wanted to help her, so he ran over to her quickly before she could leave his sight, he then noticed the metal tag on her ear, then cut it off with some pliers he saw on the ground. "Who in their sane mind would put a metal tag on a child's ear, who did this to you? He then realized that she might not speak the same language as him, and as luck would have it he learned her native species as a kid in training, he actually had a use for the language he thought he would never use. So he repeated exactly what he said but in her language, almost fluently.

Tk’e stared in shock as the man ran over to her, growling slightly as she protected her meal. She immediately shut up after she saw Tank pick up the pair of pliers. She flinched as Tank went to cut off the tag, thinking he was going to attack her.
“N-No…” She murmured as he brought the pliers towards her, only for her fear to melt once she heard the tag hit the pavement.

She looked back at them as he asked her what the tag was about. Unsure what he had just fully asked her, only understanding the words, “who,” “in” “their,” “tag,” and “child.”
But the moment he then repeated himself in her language, her ears pricked up with excitement.

<“You understand me? Wow!”> She snorted, <“The tag…. Well…”>
She started to tear up, afraid that if she told them, he would send her back., but she took the risk.

<“The tag is from Mr. Braxton….”> she sniveled, <“He called it an ID tag…”>

She stared up at Tank, her tendrils quivering, as she started to have tears rolling down her pale green face.

She wiped her tears on her dirtied white jumper sleeves, <“But anyways… thank you Mr. or Mrs.”> she said, unable to exactly tell their gender due to the clone helmet.

Tank realizes that she was either a runaway slave, or maybe it was worse than slavery. He said in her language "You were a slave? You should come with me, I can get you to the Jedi Temple hopefully, maybe they know what to do, but I can't stand by while someone is running for their freedom from slavery." He thought that he should introduce himself next "My name is Tank, I am a soldier of the Galactic Republic." He then thought he should get to know the girl since he might be travelling with her for a while, who knew how long they would be captured if they were captured by bounty hunters, so they might as well get to know each other. "Whats your name?"

The little girl stared at the ground for a moment, after Tank had asked her about if she had been a slave, sort of afraid to worry him anymore than he seemed. She took a deep breath, he would learn eventually about her situation so might as well be up front about it.
<“I guess you could say slave… but then again, maybe not..”> She muttered, rolling up her sleeves to show Tank the collection of scars, patches, bruises and stitches on her arms, scabbed over from being improperly treated. She then turned around, lifting the clumps of her bright blue hair that hid the back of her neck, revealing 6 small needle tip sized holes on the back of her neck.

She than turned back around, hoping he would understand her situation without having to speak.
<“Understand Mr. Tank?”>
She asked, voice breaking and her lips quivering in a small attempt to smile. She wanted to smile to show her gratitude towards Tank and his concern for her, but had an underlying fear that his efforts would be for nothing.

<“Also… My name is Tk’e… Tk’e Komaru..”>

Tank then nods his head, understanding her situation. He then speaks "Should we get going then?" Tank was visibly angry at the situation, thinking that no one would ever treat a child like that, but now someone did, and he knows justice has to be dealt to whoever did this to her. "Do you know the name of who did this horrible thing to you Tk'e?"

She nods, <“Lets go…”> Tk’e slung her bag over her shoulder. She then remembered her steak, knowing that it probably wouldn't keep its edible state long before rotting. Her jaw unhinges revealing razor sharp teeth as she plops the rest of the steak in her jaws.
Her jaw reattached itself as she chewed.

<“Do you know the name of who did this horrible thing to you Tk’e?”> Tank asked.

Tk’e finished her meal, swallowing now. She nods, shaking a little, uneasy to even say his name,<“Mr. Braxton….Braxton is his first name… he never told me the rest. B-but please don’t go after him, it might make things worse.”>

She really hoped that Tank would heed her warning afraid that if Tank did try to go after Braxton, he might get them both in trouble.

She only urged Tank to not go after Braxton because she didn’t want anyone getting hurt because of her sake. She gently reached up for the clone’s armor padded hand, hesitantly wrapping her small fingers around his thumb and forefinger, shaking a bit as she did, afraid that Tank would not like her touching his hand.

He held her hand and understood the warning, not wanting to get Tk'e in any trouble with Mr. Braxton or anyone else. "I understand, I won't try going after him, not unless I have to or they try and take you again." He continued to walk with her until they reached the transport ship, he payed for the trip and he sat down inside, waiting for the two of them to be taken to the top of Coruscant where they could go to the Jedi Temple.

She nodded, a seldom expression on her face.

Once they reached the transport ship, Tk’e felt as if all eyes were on her, seeing a creature of her species was rare occurrence. She stared at the ground, afraid of drawing too much attention to herself. She sat down next to Tank, quietly surveying the area near by for any possible danger, not wanting anything to happen to her rescuer or herself.
Her horns glowed a soft blue, a sign that she was a bit nervous, having only been on a transport ship once and not having a pleasant experience. She squeezed Tank’s hand tight.

Tank was fine with her holding his hand this tightly, after a few minutes they had landed and Tank walked out of the ship with her, walking over to a group of other Clones, he said to them. "I need transport to the Jedi Temple, its urgent, trust me." The Clones gave him a speeder, they trusted him since they served in a battle with him once, and since he was a Clone Captain. The speeder had room for two on it, he then spoke to Tk'e. "Are you alright with speeder rides, it should get us there quicker but if you aren't comfortable with it I have no problem walking there."

@Tk’e Komaru

As they walked off the transport, she took a great breath of fresh air, it was cleaner and less…dirty smelling then the air in the lower levels. She smiled, she had forgotten how nice it was to be outside without the hustle and bustle of crime lurking at every corner.

As Tank walked up to the other Clones, she just stood there and watched. Every once in a while she would catch one of the other Clones looking towards her, their head tilting ever so slightly, possibly from confusion.
She would then give them a small nod and go back to her own business.

When Tank asked Tk’e about a speeder ride, her tendrils twitched a bit .
<“What’s…. A speeder?”> She asked.

He tried thinking of a way to explain it to her. "It's sort of like a, animal you ride on, except it's not alive, and it's faster than most animals, it's very fast" Tank showed her the speeder explaining how it works. "So I sit up front and drive, you sit behind me and grab on to my shoulders and turn your body when I do, if you don't do that there's a good chance we get in a wreck." He had tried explaining it in a non-scary way, but he realized he probably had failed at that. "It's your choice if you want to ride on it or not, like I said, we could always walk."

She listened as he explained, excited yet worried at the same time.
<“So it’s like a very fast ice sled (makeshift sleds made out of ice sheets) like the ones back on Hoth?”>
She thought for a moment…
<“Lets do it!”> She said, throwing her hands up.

He sat on the speeder and waited for her to board while he readied it to drive. "Yeah kind of like a very fast ice sled."

(Sorry it's a short post I'm very busy)

She crawled on, grabbing on to Tank’s shoulders and prepared herself.
(That’s perfectly fine, I understand :) )

Tank turned on the speeder and was about to take off. "Hold on tight, this is gonna go fast." He then started driving and made sure to not take any sharp turns so that Tk'e could stay safe, after a few minutes they had reached the temple, and Tank hopped off of the speeder and offered to help Tk'e Komaru off of the speeder.

@Tk’e Komaru
